The past elegantly embraces the needs of the present in a harmonious and enveloping living path
Built at the beginning of the 20th century, this villa brought with it all the signs of ageing, like an old lady, who tells her story through every crack in the walls and every vein of wood. Renovating a home of this type – told us architect Fumagalli, author of this renovation – does not simply mean modernizing it, but also giving it new life.
The building has a square plan with a large central hallway, a distinguishing feature that has been deliberately maintained to preserve its historical soul. Crossing this space, you have the feeling of crossing a temporal threshold, where the past and the present meet in perfect harmony.
One of the most significant elements of the restoration concerns the recovery of the beams and wooden ceilings, once hidden by false ceilings, now restored and left exposed. The structural and anti-seismic works have been wisely hidden behind plasters and false walls, with the only exception of the staircase.
Great attention was paid to the choice of materials, selecting exclusively natural elements, consistent with the era of construction.
Today, those who cross the threshold of this villa do not simply enter a renovated house, but a place that breathes and tells, where every detail is a window on time and every corner holds a fragment of history, with the promise to continue living and enchanting for many years.
