A contemporary soul expressed through classical lines defines this elegant flat in the heart of Warsaw
The apartment, located in the heart of Warsaw, was created by two renowned international designers, Ewa Kanach and Dariusz Strzelczyk. It is a bespoke project commissioned by a couple living with their daughter, Margaret. The 200-square-metre home was formed by merging two units within an Art Nouveau building.

The designers reimagined the layout of the spaces, overseeing every detail of the renovation, from altering the internal walls to installing new electrical and plumbing systems. They designed the decorative plasterwork and floors, alternating oak herringbone parquet with Carrara marble slabs featuring black or Calacatta inlays. They conceived every structural and furnishing element, from the doors to the furniture, from the kitchen to the bathroom, including the boiserie and decorative mouldings.
Their appreciation for art is palpable in every corner. Ewa Kanach emphasises that the artworks on display come partly from the owners’ personal collection and partly from auctions in London. The art ranges from works by Polish artists to prints by Picasso and Henry Moore.

The kitchen, designed by the two architects, is a bright and functional space, featuring stained oak cabinetry and an island, with an oak worktop.
Finally, the master bedroom is a sanctuary reflecting the owners’ taste. Outstanding features include Fortuny lamps, 18th-century leather panels, and 19th-century English furnishings. Every detail contributes to an atmosphere of refined beauty.
