The name already explains everything... A generous natural setting and harmonious interiors where beauty is not an ornament but an experiential condition
When architecture ceases to oppose the landscape and begins to intertwine with it, the home becomes the stage for a profound experience. Casa Tra-Vette* stems precisely from this idea: the transformation of an abandoned building at the foot of the Lattari Mountains into a contemporary dwelling that invites the natural world into everyday life.
*The name “Tra-Vette” plays on the Italian words tra (between) and vette (peaks), referring to the house’s position among the surrounding mountains.

The design key adopted by the Pianozeroarchitetti team is both clear and refined: an open-plan layout of Miesian inspiration. Here, structures do not confine but organise paths of light and sight. The marble partitions take on an active role: they are not merely dividing walls, but tactile and visual elements that connect spaces, lead the gaze outward, and create a continuous dialogue between interior and exterior.
A large glazed panel, interrupted by a green marble partition, separates the entrance space from the study area without closing off the view: a permeable threshold between work and domestic life, where transparency maintains a balance between intimacy and openness.
Material choices emphasise intimacy and balance. Natural oak wraps floors and surfaces, radiating warmth and continuity.

A carefully calibrated meeting between people, materials, and landscape, this home teaches how to experience the outdoors from within, turning observation into a daily gesture. Nature becomes architecture, and architecture, in turn, becomes nature.
Living here means learning to listen to and inhabit nature not as spectators, but as active participants within the architecture itself.
