Masonry partitions, signature design pieces and natural materials reshape a loft that blends minimal-ism and comfort
Just as a perfectly blank canvas offers an artist absolute freedom, this residential space – created with-in a former industrial volume – presented the architecture studio with two possible design approaches.
The latter prevailed, in keeping with the clients’ wish to experience their home in a simple, in-formal way. The result is a contemporary open space characterised by neutral tones, raw materials, and masonry partitions that enliven the interior, flooded with natural light, and furnished with a curat-ed selection of design pieces.

The brushed and oiled natural oak floorboards, together with the smoothed exposed concrete walls and ceilings, establish a consistent volume in which natural light – entering partly through large pivot-ing windows and partly from two generous horizontal skylights – becomes the star across all surfaces.
The project places particular emphasis on the living area, where formal minimalism, understated fur-nishings, and the juxtaposition of natural materials create an atmosphere of great charm and elegance.
The kitchen opens onto the dining area with a bespoke stainless-steel island, and the large table – also custom-made. The other rooms of the apartment unfold fluidly, opening out onto the living space.

Behind the kitchen and living area, two exposed white concrete partitions conceal utility spaces such as a laundry room and a back kitchen with access to the rooftop; an element of surprise that enhances the home’s overall flexibility.
