An apartment full of charm and comfort. We are in a neighbourhood that has historically been home to New York’s elite families
It is one of the most iconic areas in Manhattan, renowned for its tree-lined avenues, handsome limestone buildings, meticulously restored brownstones, and enviable concentration of museums, galleries, and luxury boutiques. Relocating from Paris, it was precisely to this neighbourhood that interior designer Carolina von Humboldt chose to move.

The apartment spans two levels, covering a total of 150 square metres and includes a terrace, a rarity in New York City.
In her own apartment, Carolina oversaw the renovation and carefully selected the furniture and decorative elements, combining different styles and colours to ensure each room is perfectly in harmony with the others.
The fireplace wall is a signature of her style. During the renovations, she had the fireplace wall extended. The vertically positioned mirror, with a Franz von Stauffenberg painting in the centre in black-and-white tones, flanked by two black-and-white photographs by Christophe von Hohenberg and two concave glass consoles, enhances the depth of the living area. The dining area also reflects the personality and skill of the homeowner in blending styles and eras.

Upstairs, the bedroom in magnolia tones, with hints of golden yellow, features a centrally positioned bed and large windows overlooking the terrace, adorned only with white hydrangeas… a subtle elegance that Carolina achieves through her remarkable sense of style.
