A project that rediscovers and enhances spatial possibilities within the ancient sixteenth-century stables of Villa Borromeo in Pavia
Set in Pavia, at the heart of the Lombard countryside, this project takes shape through the restoration of the attic space and the redesign of the ground floor of a portion of the linear stable building, now divided into multiple properties. The project is signed by Studio Startup Architettura.

The garden has been completely reimagined to host an outdoor living area that leads naturally to the entrance. Large mirrored glazed openings frame the surrounding landscape and reflect the greenery along the façade, establishing a continuous dialogue between indoors and outdoors.
Inside, the ground floor opens onto spaces redesigned around a new material concept, where contrasts and harmonies define the identity of the interiors.
Mirrored doors and continuous flooring enhance visual continuity, while white-painted wooden ceilings emphasise the abundance of natural light. Spatial fluidity is ensured by sliding doors that allow glimpses between rooms, offering ever-changing views and perspectives.

Through these openings, for instance, the LC4 chaise longue by Cassina appears as an iconic design statement and a visual focal point. The OK lamps by Flos, distributed with delicate balance, introduce verticality and rhythm, completing a project that seamlessly blends memory and contemporaneity, architectural rigour and material sensitivity.
