95 square metres in a period building, renovated to become both home and studio for a designer couple
In the heart of Milan, within a 1930s period building, an apartment with a rigid layout has been entirely reimagined by the design studio taNgo Atelier to serve as the home and studio of a designer couple.

Arches, light, and reflections turn these 95 square metres into a domestic stage that weaves together past and present, creating a calm and welcoming environment where memory and modernity engage in a delicate dialogue.
Carolina Gosio, founder of the studio, tells us: “In this apartment, we recognised a hidden potential, particularly in the long central corridor, a typical yet often limiting feature of historic Milanese homes”.
“The project therefore stems from the design concept ‘Arches framing the way’: a sequence of arches conceived not merely as decorative elements, but as an architectural device capable of framing perspectives, guiding movement, and redefining spatial perception”.

The arches thus become the project’s leitmotif, connecting the corridor, living room, and dining area as a theatrical stage set. The result is a harmonious narrative, intertwining memory and modernity, tradition and functionality… the distinctive signature of the studio.
