A Contemporary Borgo in the Garda Landscape
Rather than conceiving the residence as an autonomous object within the landscape, the design approach was to interpret architecture as a natural evolution of the existing agricultural setting. The project therefore unfolds as a system of discreet, articulated volumes that evoke the scale and character of a traditional Garda borgo, dissolving the perception of a single large complex and fostering a more intimate relationship with its surroundings.
The complex is set among the olive groves that define the landscape of Manerba del Garda, embracing the territory itself as the guiding element of the composition.
The trees are not merely natural elements but become an integral part of the architecture, shaping views, pathways, resting places and the relationships between buildings. The residence develops around this silent and constant presence, allowing the olive trees to provide identity and continuity to the entire project.
The architecture adopts an essential contemporary language, based on the purity of its geometries, the quality of its proportions and the pursuit of a balanced relationship between solids and voids. The project seeks a form of discreet luxury, far removed from any spectacular gesture. More than a tourist complex, the project takes shape as a contemporary borgo immersed in the Garda landscape.
