A contemporary villa that interprets the Sicilian landscape through architecture, light and nature
Overlooking the Ionian Sea and facing Mount Etna, this contemporary villa interprets the Sicilian landscape through an essential yet sophisticated architectural language. This project arises from the encounter between an extraordinary natural setting and a shared vision between designers and clients, united by an authentic dialogue that accompanied every phase of the work, from the initial concepts to the refinement of details.
Set on a promontory overlooking the Acireale area, the residence unfolds across three levels and is articulated through volumes that emerge from the site’s natural morphology, establishing a constant relationship with its surroundings. The architecture does not seek to impose itself on the landscape, but rather to amplify its scenic strength, enhancing views of the sea, Mediterranean vegetation, and the silhouette of the volcano.
A defining feature of the project is the presence of greenery, conceived as an integral part of the architecture. The subtropical Mediterranean garden thus becomes a true design device, capable of connecting interior and exterior in a continuous dialogue. The material research contributes to defining the villa’s identity.
The spatial programme responds to the owners’ desire for a versatile and open home, capable of adapting to the rhythms of family life and moments of gathering. Generous and flexible spaces, modulated through sliding partition systems, allow the interiors to be transformed according to different needs and seasons.
