Living among the trulli and nature, surrounded by the beauty of priceless tranquillity
It is in the countryside of Ostuni, among olive groves and dry-stone walls, in the silence of a tranquil landscape, that architect Isabella Ciracì Altamura guides us through an interpretation of Apulia freed from postcard iconography, revealing its authentic soul, in harmony with the surrounding nature, and expressing a precise vision of contemporary Mediterranean living.
Two buildings stand facing one another, and between them lies the true domestic heart of the project, defined by a large outdoor area with a swimming pool around which a splendid garden of Mediterranean plants and trees unfolds.
The newly-built volume introduces us, through a patio, into a living room, a small kitchen, and two bedrooms with en-suite bathrooms. The trullo opposite has been renovated while preserving its original features.
The garden, together with the swimming pool designed and created by the architect, is the focal point, the real heart of the entire home, the space around which volumes, pathways, shadows and rooms are organised.
The project invites a rediscovery of the value of slow time, roots and small things, in an experience that blends the charm of tradition with contemporary comfort, offering each day the feeling of living in a place where past and present coexist in perfect balance.
