On the island of Capri, the renovation of this light-filled home, open to the azure sea and endless sky, emphasises stylistic consistency and a seamless continuity
The common thread of this house on the island of Capri is the stylistic consistency and visual continuity between the Mediterranean stone floors, the walls, and the ceilings, all finished in white stucco, as architect Massimo Esposito explained. He was responsible for the complete renovation of this residence.
The same coherent design language extends to the long built-in bench on the terrace, also finished in white stucco and dressed with white and blue cushions. These same shades reappear on the sofas inside the living room, with direct access to the terrace.
The design choices, fully shared by the owners, resulted in an understated aesthetic, with the same finishing materials used throughout both the interiors and the outdoor spaces. The only touches of colour are provided by the textiles, whose palette ranges from white and blue to pearl grey. The furnishings reflect the same restrained approach: all wardrobes have been built into the masonry.
The interior living space extends to 150 square metres, while the sea-facing terrace overlooking the island’s crystal-clear waters measures approximately 80 square metres. Most of the rooms feature either groin or pavilion vaults. Originally, the apartment belonged to a larger residence laid out across two terraced levels.
The true protagonists, however, are the outdoor spaces, which enjoy breathtaking views over the sea and Capri’s iconic Faraglioni.
