Enchanting immensity

The modern reinterpretation of a spacious chalet, immersed in nature and surrounded by mountains in Ponte di Legno.

A young family entrusted architect Mirko Varischi with the interior design of a new and large chalet in Ponte di Legno, in Tonale Pass, to be used as a second house.

In order to achieve this goal, the design was rigorous, detailed and based on the needs of each member of the customer family.

The result was the creation of an extremely comfortable, stylish, relaxing and very evocative holiday home, to be enjoyed as many days and weekends as possible a year.

Although being inside a residential complex, this large flat on two levels offers an independent context. This resulted in a personal contemporary reinterpretation of the classic chalet, in continuous dialogue with the mountain.

The interpretation of the interiors enhanced the enchanting immensity of the outdoor landscape but also brought the intense landscape atmospheres into the various indoor settings. With entrances on both levels, the living area, the terrace and the private main areas are located on the upper floor; on the lower floor, there are the daughters’ rooms and the relaxing wellness area. A staircase connects the two floors.

The spaces are well-defined and privacy is guaranteed, especially in the sleeping area, where each room boasts an en-suite bathroom and a walk-in closet.

Overall, all the rooms follow a unique and contemporary stylistic design, which combines the use of wood,of porphyry and of iron,with the tailor-made design of the furnishings,the study of lighting and attention to detail. Among these special features, we find the wallpaper that evocatively represents a forest, and the large chandelier made with animal horns.

To conclude, the spa with sauna, relaxation area and swimming pool overlooking the mountains fully expresses the immense and refined sharing between inside and outside.
