The historicity of the original building leaves room for strong but at the same time delicate interiors, where the light blurs the outlines of the furnishings, making the volumes plastic.
Near Como, the building of a former ice house was restored with care and an abundance of interesting details by architects Stefano Rigoni, Stefania Restelli and Sara Pivetta, turning it into a single-family residence that has preserved its historical character.

However, by crossing the entrance threshold, an essential and modern world opens up, almost elusive in its essence, where lines and colours create relaxing dynamics and almost surreal perspectives. An enchanted universe that takes place around the round room, the former ice house, a place dedicated to sociality. And so it was, because all you need to do is look up at the sky to enjoy the wooden dome in all its beauty which, with its original bleached beams, frames the environment with exclusive originality.
Around, we find the other environments of the living area, all closely related but with their own privacy, such as the kitchen which overlooks the greenery of the park, but also the dining room and the living room heated by a modern fireplace.
Through an arch, we move on to the sleeping area, where we find the same chromatic and stylistic harmony, with a few essential and precise elements that make the volumes functional and aesthetically fascinating.
However, by taking the staircase marked by natural lines, you reach the mezzanine overlooking the living room, where a study-relaxation area has been implemented with a beautiful view of the historic park from the balcony.
According to needs, the specifically designed lights create warm atmospheres that make the environments enveloping. The windows of the living area were left without curtains, to allow the colours of nature to enter the volumes and paint the walls with delicate shades, according to the seasons.
The resin flooring unifies the rooms making everything even more connected and continuous on an aesthetic level, only the mezzanine area has been covered with natural oak parquet.
A design philosophy inspired by great attention to detail, which has allowed them to build a consistent and delicate story that conveys a great feeling of peace.
