Dive into the history and the sophistication of contemporary design, to find the right quietness and the pleasure of unwinding from the daily frenzy.

Lecce, in Salento, still bears visible signs of the Roman Empire. The second city of the Kingdom of Naples boasts a strong Baroque legacy, and today is listed among the most important Italian cities of art.
The city centre boasts Palazzo Maresgallo, a 16th-century noble palace built by the Maresgallo family, one of the most enlightened of the time. The original facade is a masterpiece designed by Gian Giacomo Dell’Acaya, one of the famous architects who dedicated his life to creating and restoring aristocratic palaces from Naples to Apulia.

This recent project came to life thanks to the love for art, architecture and beauty of the place that Miriam and Lionel have shared for many years. After three years of work, Palazzo Maresgallo arises in new splendour.
The goal was to share its 2000 sqm, resulting in a new vision of hospitality, where history and the comfort of modern life would coexist. Miriam is a lover and expert of contemporary art and this has led to the choice of exhibiting local and international artists inside the palace, in a well-structured calendar of events. All areas spread an elegant atmosphere, and the eclectic rooms are furnished with unique design pieces.
For example, the living area Soggiorno Ruspoliwas designed to offer memorable moments of joviality and relaxation and was painted by the famous artist Roberto Ruspoli.

With 12 rooms, a terrace, a garden, a wellness area and a gym, Palazzo Maresgallo explores the essence of tailor-made services as well as extra features on request. In particular, with its private terrace and independent entrance, the Onirica roomis the glorification of a double room. Located on the main floor of the palace and offering extra comfort, this 50 sqm room features a mezzanine bookcase, a walk-in closet and two luxury en-suites. Miriamtells us:
“We wanted this room to offer the right atmosphere for romantic nights, in order to celebrate special moments.” You can ask the staff to have a fullservice breakfast on the private terrace, which offers a spectacular view of the old town. Among the services included, you can benefit from the gym and an hour of private sauna; moreover, a body massage can be booked upon request.

The garden with orange trees allows you to enjoy pleasant moments of rest and refreshment by the small swimming pool. Furthermore, at the end of the day, guests can also enjoy a glass of Prosecco on the rooftop terrace, together with splendid sunsets, the view of the cathedral and the remains of the Roman theatre.
Among the extra services, guests, upon reservation, can take cooking classes and visit the secret spots of the city as well as private wine cellars and ceramic workshops, another peculiarity of the area.
