The renovation and redevelopment of Palazzo Ciopeta, in Verona, has brought to light the beauty of a refined place.
Palazzo Ciopeta is located in the heart of the historic centre of Verona, a 19th-century building placed in one of the crucial points of Veronese life: nearby, in fact, there are very high-value complexes such as Piazza Bra, Castelvecchio and the Teatro Filarmonico.
The redevelopment process of the property began in 2019, and in September 2023 the structure was given back to the city, contributing to the redevelopment of the area in which it is located.
The project focused on the recovery of the building while respecting the existing structure. Inside, the typological and technological adaptation of the building was carried out by reorganizing and simplifying the vertical accesses through the installation of a lift and a new stairwell.
The ground floor was used for catering activities, in continuity with the historic Ciopeta restaurant, while in the basement, the changing rooms for the staff, a warehouse and two spaces for tasting were placed at the service of the restaurant. Finally, on the upper floors, there are accommodations used as residences.
The project pursued the goal of becoming deeply rooted in the historical-cultural context of the city of Verona. Verona urbs picta has a long and deep-rooted tradition of producing pigments for art and architecture.
The project, therefore, revolves around the chromatic richness of the natural pigments of the Verona area.
The seven flats are marked by seven different pigments: the Pozzuoli red earth, the red pigment, Umber, the raw Siena pigment, yellow, the Brentonico green earth and the Nicosia green pigments. In this way, the guests immerse themselves in a complete and deep chromatic experience.
