Eighteen lakefront suites and the embrace of centuries- old cedars.
Classic Italian architecture’s rendezvous is on Lake Como, precisely in Pognana Lario, to meet modern luxury standards and to turn this place into a five- star hospitality complex.
In 2020, this input led to the complete restoration of Villa Làrio – previously owned by the Lombardi family – and to the creation of 18 suites located on two hectares of nature and in four different lakefront buildings, all surrounded by greenery: Il Palazzo, Villa Bianca, the Pavilion and the Garden Suite. input led to the complete restoration of Villa Làrio – previously owned by the Lombardi family – and to the creation of 18 suites located on two hectares of nature and in four different lakefront buildings, all surrounded by greenery: Il Palazzo, Villa Bianca, the Pavilion and the Garden Suite.
Il Palazzo incorporates the 19th-century villa and houses 8 suites, including the Presidential Suite, the lounge bar and a sitting room overlooking the terrace. The Castagna 1939 interior design studio led the project by focusing on traditional materials, such as marble, combining them with simple yet luxurious design elements and details.
Danilo Carelli – an expert in the conservation of historic facades – was instead entrusted with the work on the large frescoes that adorn the Villa; he used a Renaissance technique that combines painting and carving skills, giving beautiful depth and movement to the walls.
Villa Làrio has also chosen to collaborate with Fantini Mosaici, a Milanese mosaic artist that worked on the floors of the Venetian terrace placed on the ground floor of the Palazzo, in order to create a masterpiece. Villa Bianca has four suites with a private sitting room, reception and restaurant. The Pavilion overlooking the lake consists of an exclusive private villa of 120 sqm with two bedrooms, while the Garden Suite is an independent residence located in the historic gardens.
In this setting, there is also a 20-metre panoramic infinity pool open on the horizon and oriented towards the sunset.
The historic gardens are ideal for unwinding and meditating under the centuries-old cedars, whose leafy branches are moved by the placid lake breeze; from the private pier, you can go swimming, water skiing and set sail for boat trips.
The young chef Alex Visconti leads the restaurant of the Villa Làrio complex, offering seasonal menus focused on five key Italian ingredients.
