A renovation project that did not cancel the typological/architectural features of the barn and the Lombard farmhouse.
The regeneration of the building sector of the residential areas of our cities is an increasingly pressing issue. Having the sensitivity to implement a process like regeneration, therefore, is not for everyone. It is much easier to exploit new land and build new buildings.
Starting from this concept, we see that respectful rebirth and charm mark this home, which, within its architectural fabric, follows its own interesting and noteworthy philosophy.

Architect Andrea Benedetti told us about it; he signed this project that displays a harmonious collaboration with Derada, which supplied and installed all the flooring and some pieces of furniture. “This is my regeneration, my reuse, my retrofitting, which means giving the container a new content, a new function: the housing one”.
The living area is a large open space, it occupies the space of the agricultural-rural area. The old manor house today is a sleeping area and bathrooms, while the current garden stands on the land of the architect’s grandparents’house. A deep renovation therefore, we find the original wooden trusses, ridge beams and purlins and the wooden roof boasts the original terracotta tiles, preserved and reused.
On the other side, we find the new materials – clean, technical, and adjusted –, thus almost creating two worlds in perfect harmony and dialogue. An essential and minimalist envelope, where the light tones of the walls further amplify the brightness of the rooms, especially in the living area, marked by the large windows that infill the front of the former barn.
The tactile consistency of porcelain stoneware becomes flooring, used to coat but also to furnish. The colour of the beams and its tactile consistency can be found in the dining table and the accessories, but also the roof of the large master bathroom.
Regeneration also means energetically redeveloping properties. not only by adding systems, but also and above all, by trying to exploit the free contributions of the sun.
