IL cantiere OTAM nasce nel 1954. Acronimo di Organizzazione Tigullio Assistenza Motoscafi, è in origine uno dei primi cantieri di rimessaggio in Liguria. È attivo su tre segmenti produttivi: la storica gamma OTAM, a cui si affianca la produzione nella nicchia Chase Boats, e da fine 2014 il segmento Otam Custom Range dai 35 ai 40 metri, in alluminio. Il nuovo OTAM 80 HT M/Y MYSTERE è la quarta unità del modello di punta della gamma e fonde perfettamente il livello delle prestazioni a un alto tasso di personalizzazione ed abitabilità. Questo dimostra la possibilità di realizzare uno yacht in grado di unire performance estreme all’eleganza del made in Italy.

La grande differenza rispetto al suo predecessore risiede nella decisione dell’esperto armatore di montare la doppia motorizzazione invece della quadrupla. Una scelta che ha consentito al cantiere genovese di realizzare un layout ancora più arioso, dove risalta una vera e propria doppia cabina armatoriale. Queste due suite spiccano per una soluzione ad alto tasso di ergonomia, grazie all’eliminazione di qualunque gradino a garanzia della maggiore comodità di movimento possibile. Un’espressa richiesta dell’armatore, questa, che ha voluto un layout rispondente al proprio modo di vivere il mare.

Va vista in quest’ottica anche l’introduzione di un’ulteriore cabina vip, della cucina separata e della cabina equipaggio a prua con accesso separato. Il design degli arredi, combinato all’uso di ebano laccato con inserti in acciaio cromato, teak naturale e moquette in seta e cachemire, spicca per i suoi contrasti cromatici, che creano un’atmosfera affascinante e accogliente, capace di enfatizzare ulteriormente la spaziosità degli ambienti. Come anticipato, il nuovo OTAM 80 HT M/Y MYSTERE monta una doppia motorizzazione MTU M94 2600 Hp@2450 RPM e trasmissioni Arneson drive15 A 1 L, che si sono dimostrati capaci di spingere la barca oltre i 48 nodi nelle prove in mare. Lo scafo a V profonda si traduce, per chi naviga, in un comportamento morbido e fluido sulle onde assicurando anche con mare formato una velocità di crociera di 41 nodi a 2.150 giri in tutta sicurezza.

A riprova dell’artigianalità propria del vero made in Italy, il cantiere ha inoltre posto grande attenzione all’insonorizzazione, realizzando una doppia coibentazione nella sala macchine e nelle due suite armatoriali. Ottimi i risultati ottenuti: solo 44 db nella cabina armatoriale e nel Main Deck Salon con generatore in funzione e aria condizionata all’80% di carico. OTAM 80 HT ha una lunghezza fuori tutto di 25,50 metri e una larghezza di 6,05 metri.

The twin 2,600 hp engines push over than 48 knots. The interior layout – perfectly done – gives this boat an exclusive style.

The OTAM shipyard was founded in 1954. OTAM is the acronym for Organizzazione Tigullio Assistenza Motoscafi and it was originally one of the first shipyards in Liguria. The yard is active in three production segments: the historic OTAM range, hand in hand with the chase boat production and – since the end of 2014 – the OTAM Custom Range with aluminum yachts from 35 to 40 meters in length. The new OTAM 80 HT M/Y MYSTERE is the fourth unit of the OTAM Line’s featured models and is a perfect blend of performance with a high level of customization and living space. Made in Italy elegance and high performance can be successfully combined at OTAM Shipyard.

The biggest difference from its predecessor is found in the expert owner’s decision to install a twin propulsion sys-tem; this allowed the Genoese shipyard to create an even more airy interior layout where a truly double owner’s suite stands out. These two suites offer highly ergonomic solutions, thanks to the complete elimination of steps which guarantees extreme ease of movement. This was a specific request of the owner who was looking for a lay-out that fulfilled his personal manner of life at sea. Along the same lines, he also requested a further VIP cabin, a separate galley and separate access to the crew quarters at the bow.

The design of the pieces of furniture, together with the use of lacquered ebony with chrome steel inserts, natural teak and carpeting in silk and cashmere highlight chromatic contrasts which create a fascinating and welcoming atmosphere, able to further emphasize the spaciousness of the interior space. As we just mentioned, this boat is equipped with twin TU M94 engines that develop 2600hp at 2450rpm and Arneson drive 15 A 1 L transmissions.

The deep-V hull shape provides – for those who are sailing – a soft and fluid attitude towards waves – even in rough seas – and gives the boat a cruising speed of 41 knots at 2,150rpm in complete safety. Evidencing true Made-In-Italy, the shipyard has also placed great emphasis on sound-proofing, creating double thickness insulation around the engine room and around the two owner’s suites. Excellent results: with the genera-tor running and air-conditioning at 80% load, the sound level was only 44db. Length over all is 25.50 m and beam is 6.05 m.
