92 mq di casa-galleria per un appassionato collezionista d’arte e di oggetti particolari che rendono affascinanti e unici gli spazi.

L’appartamento di Eric Allart si trova a Parigi, nella parte nord del centro della città. Un quartiere con bei palazzi, vivace e ben conosciuto dai parigini per la presenza di Teatri e Cabaret. Tra i più famosi: il “Folies Bergère”, “l’Opéra Garnier” e “l’Olympia”.

Eric ha una passione costante e ossessiva per le cose belle e, quando nei primi anni Novanta decise di trasferirsi a Parigi, rimase affascinato dall’appartamento al quarto piano di un edificio dei primi del ’900.

Il colpo di fulmine furono le grandi finestre che affacciano all’interno di un cortile silenzioso e danno a tutto lo spazio luce, aria e allegria. “Mi piace questo appartamento – ci racconta Eric – non è molto grande, ma per me è come una galleria, uno spazio seducente.

Il lungo ingresso mi introduce nelle stanze e mantiene fresca e attenta la mia memoria nel recuperare e conservare splendidi oggetti che amo definire opere d’arredamento”.

Durante i 6 mesi di lavori di ristrutturazione è stato deciso di mantenere lo stile e l’essenza delle decorazioni e delle pareti, non sacrificandole a una scelta di modernità che sarebbe apparsa radicale. Risultato: volumi equilibrati con giochi di specchi e simmetrie a dare più luce e profondità agli ambienti.

Gallerista, mercante d’arte e decoratore, è sempre alla ricerca di pezzi che suscitino emozioni. Ci racconta: “Essere editore delle mie creazioni e ricercatore di pezzi di artisti è un interesse che si è sviluppato in me in modo naturale.

Gli oggetti che ho nel mio appartamento mi seguono da anni, sono fedele a loro, li conservo come il vino e col tempo acquisiscono più valore”. Nella sua casa Eric ama passare il tempo e lavorare.

Gli oggetti sono disposti con cura, quasi come in una galleria. Tutto è stato studiato nei minimi dettagli.

Tra le cose a lui più care spiccano la lampada di Gabriella Crespi del 1970, le foto di Willy Rizzo e le 4 torce applique di Jean Boris Lacroix del 1940, che lo seguono ovunque da anni.

Dopo le tre stanze di rappresentanza, alla fine di un piccolo corridoio, s’incontra la cucina, voluta nello stile semplice delle case di campagna: qui condivide con amici pranzi e colazioni anche di lavoro.

Nella camera da letto sono pochi gli oggetti in evidenza perché lo spazio è dedicato esclusivamente al riposo.

Alla domanda come ama trascorrere il suo tempo libero, ci risponde: “I mercati delle Pulci, a Parigi, sono un must per i cacciatori d’affari. Mi diverto a visitare tutti i banchi, passo in rassegna gli oggetti esposti, sempre alla ricerca del pezzo particolare, del colpo di fulmine che mi entusiasmi e m’infiammi. Sin da adolescente, le opere e gli oggetti hanno avuto su di me un’attrattiva particolare”.

A 92-sqm gallery/flat for an enthusiastic collector of art and special items that make his abode charming and unique.

Eric Allart’s flat is located in Paris, in the northern part of the city centre. An “arrondissement” with beautiful buildings, a lively district that is well known by the Parisians for its theatres and cabarets; among the most famous: the Folies Bergère, the Opéra Garnier and the Olympia.

Eric has an abiding and obsessive passion for the finer things and, when he decided to move to Paris in the early nineties, he was fascinated by a flat on the fourth floor of an early-1900s building.

The large windows overlooking a quiet courtyard give light, air and joy to the whole space. Eric told us: “I like this flat, it’s not very big but it’s like a gallery for me, an alluring and seductive space.

The long entrance introduces me to the rooms; my memory is fresh and accurate in recovering and preserving beautiful objects that I like to call works of furniture”.

During the six months of renovations, we decided to preserve the style and the essence of decorations and walls, not sacrificing them to a modern choice that would have been radical.

The result: balanced volumes with mirror tricks and symmetries to give more light and depth to the rooms. Eric — gallery owner, art dealer and interior decorator — is always looking for pieces arousing emotions.

He told us: “Being the editor of my creations and the researcher of artists’ pieces is an interest that has naturally developed inside me. The objects that I have in my flat have been following me for years; I am faithful to them, I treasure them like wine, and they increase in value over time”.

Eric loves working and spending his time at home. Objects are arranged with great care, almost like in a gallery. Everything has been studied in detail. Among the dearest things he owns: a 1970 lamp by Gabriella Crespi, Willy Rizzo’s pictures and four 1940 wall lights by Jean Boris Lacroix, which have followed him everywhere for years.

After the three ceremonial rooms, at the end of a small corridor, there is the kitchen, in the simple style of country houses: here, he shares lunches and breakfasts with friends, for business reasons too.

In the bedroom, few elements stand out since space is exclusively dedicated to rest. When asked how he liked spending his free time, Eric replied: “The flea markets in Paris are a must for bargain hunters. I enjoy visiting all the market stalls, I go through all the displayed items, and I am always looking for something particular, a love at first sight that excites me and ignites me. Since I was a teenager, pieces and objects have always held a very special attraction for me”.
