Los Angeles: nel quartiere Hancock Park, una casa rivive le emozioni e i desideri dei proprietari

Siamo ad Hancock Park, storico quartiere residenziale di Los Angeles, tra La Brea e la più famosa Melrose, leggendaria strada alla moda tanto cara ad Hollywood.

Sviluppatosi negli anni ’20, Hancock Park presenta residenze architettoniche costruite per lo più all’inizio del XX° secolo.

Quando gli Anderson acquistarono qui la loro casa si concentrarono sui propri sogni del dogma.

“Desideravamo uno spazio per la meditazione – raccontano – e volevamo un angolo di mondo circondandoci dei bei ricordi presi qua e là durante i nostri viaggi.

La nostra camera doveva essere consistente, ma anche intima ed accogliente”.

Christine e Mark volevano costruire un’emozione con la complicità di qualcuno che li aiutasse a trasformarla nella cosa più solida a cui si possa aspirare, la propria casa.

Un architetto non avrebbe tradotto una “visione” in realtà, ma Breeze, la loro amica, sì!

Appassionata, passionale e di origini italiane, Breeze è un brillante avvocato uscita da Harvard e convertitasi in interior designer.

“Quando il crollo dell’economia colpì il mio Paese fui incoraggiata dall’idea che la vita è troppo breve per sfigurare i sogni” rivela.

Dopo aver studiato design e aver lavorato in uno studio di architettura, questa giovane avvocato si trasferisce da DC a Los Angeles.

Qui, poco dopo, degli amici comuni le presentano gli Anderson.

Quando alla vita dai prova di coraggio e volontà, lei ti organizza l’appuntamento giusto!

Sarà un duro lavoro, ma Breeze trasformerà una noiosa casa di cinque camere da letto in un santuario pieno di sentimento.

Incorporerà elementi dell’architettura coloniale spagnola in decorazioni eclettiche, arredi eleganti e finiture di tendenza.

“Io non forzo mai i miei clienti a seguire rigidamente uno specifico stile, bensì cerco di guidarli affinché trovino la strada che percorreremo insieme.

Parlo tanto con loro, fino a carpirne i ricordi, viaggi e hotel che li hanno più ispirati.

Scavo nella loro infanzia, nei profumi, colori ed atmosfere che vorrebbero ricreare…

Quando il quadro è completo lavoro per consegnare un progetto accurato e coeso, completato da bozzetti”.

Uno degli spazi più delicati da realizzare è stata la master-suite, rétro quel tanto che basta e contemporanea nello stesso tempo: è il loro piccolo tempio.

Riconfigurandone la pianta originale, Breeze ne prenderà i volumi, realizzando cabine armadio, una grande stanza da bagno e una magnifica meditation room.

Ogni spazio della casa vive di una diversa atmosfera, ogni ambiente è un luogo…

“Il luogo” dove si entra per staccare la spina e riconciliarsi con l’anima.

L’obbiettivo è stato raggiunto!

HOW TO AROUSE EMOTIONS

In Hancock Park, Los Angeles, a house to remind its owners’ feelings and wishes.

In Hancock Park, a historic residential neighbourhood in Los Angeles (between La Brea Avenue and the popular Melrose Avenue), an iconic fashion street so dear to Hollywood.

Developed in the 1920s, Hancock Park boasts some architectural homes mostly built at the beginning of the 20th century.

When the Anderson family purchased their abode here, they focused on dreams and tenets.

They told us: “We were looking for a space for meditation, and we wanted a corner in the world that would reflect our personality.

Surrounded by the memories seized during our journeys, here and there.

Our bedroom has to be remarkable but also cosy, intimate and private.”

Christine and Mark aimed at arousing emotions through somebody’s complicity to help them to turn it into the strongest thing we can think of: their home.

An architect would not have probably translated a vision into reality but Breeze — their friend — did it!

Enthusiastic, fiery and of Italian origin, Breeze is a brilliant lawyer, a Harvard woman that became an interior designer.

“When the economic collapse hit my country, I was spurred by the idea that life is too short to disfigure dreams” she revealed.

After studying design and gaining experience in an architectural firm, this young lawyer moved from Washington D.C. to Los Angeles.

Here, shortly after, some mutual friends introduced her to the Anderson family.

When you prove your courage and willpower in life, fate organizes the perfect date for you!

It is hard work, but Breeze knows how to turn a boring five-bedroom house into a soulful haven:

mixing elements belonging to the Spanish colonial architecture with eclectic decorations, elegant furnishings and trendy finishing touches.

“I never force my customers to strictly follow a specific style, but I try to guide them to find the path we will take together.

I talk a lot to them until figuring out the memories, travels and hotels that have inspired them the most.

I dig into their childhood, the scents, the colours and the atmospheres that they would like to recreate…

When I have a complete picture, I work to propose them an accurate and cohesive project, completed by sketches”.

One of the most delicate spaces was the master suite, simultaneously vintage and contemporary.

This is their small temple.

By modifying the original floor plan, Breeze will benefit from the previews volumes to create walk-in wardrobes, a large bathroom and a magnificent meditation room.

Each space of the abode has a different atmosphere, each room is a place…

“The place” where you can take a break and reconcile with your soul.
